Cloverfield

Whether you love scary movies or loathe the thought of watching one, there’s no doubt that you’ve heard of all of the hype surrounding JJ Abrams’ newest project, Cloverfield. While I wasn’t personally a big fan, many of you think the film is brilliant; either way, the one fact that you can’t dispute is that Cloverfield had a unique marketing strategy that helped to make the movie the top grossing film in its opening week. Facebook pages, Myspace profiles, and widgets like the one below show the impact that an online social campaign can have on a traditional medium.
