Saturn to be over shadowed by lunar eclipse
Unless you live in a cave, don’t watch tv, or haven’t surfed the net in the last 24 hours, you’re probably aware of the lunar eclipse at 10:01 Eastern tonight. Whether or not you care is a another story, but in any case this is the last lunar eclipse until December 20th, 2010 (Oh my! What will we do to pass the time in the next 2 years?) But did you know that Saturn will also be visible too? According to Yahoo, “as the moonlight dims — it won’t go totally dark — Saturn and Regulus will pop out and sandwich the moon. Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo.” So turn your (un)trained eye towards the sky, and enjoy the show!
Update: Here’s a picture of the lunar eclipse, taken by my good friend Nicole DeBiase.
