Winter Olympics

Filed under: Olympics, Sports — Tristan Panasik @ 11:18

I have refrained from commenting about the Olympics, but there have been a few events that stand out so far that I just have to discuss.

  1. USA beat Canada in Men’s Hockey.  I know, there are more games to play and a gold medal to win.  But this was incredible and completely (in my point of view) unexpected. We have quite a few NJ Devils on the team, and I’m psyched to see the finals!
  2. Sven Kramer losing Olympic gold due to his coach’s error.  His coach told Kramer to switch lanes which lead to a disqualification for the front runner. Oops!
  3. Joannie Rochette had a fabulous short program in the figure skating compeition after her mother unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack in Vancouver.
