Filed under: Entertainment — Tristan Panasik @ 23:14

According to People.com, Beyonce Knowles and long term boyfriend Jay-Z have obtained a marriage licence in New York state.  The license is good for about 60 days, so keep your ears open to the sound of wedding bells.

Velvet Revolver Pulls Trigger

Filed under: music, News, Entertainment — Tristan Panasik @ 21:39

Earlier today, Velvet Revolver announced that the band will be splitting with its lead singer Scott Weiland.  While it is easy to initially speculate that the break up is a result of Weiland’s checkered past, not to mention his recent DUI charges (to which Weiland has plead not guilty and is free on $40,000 bail), the break up actually coincides with the recent announcement that Stone Temple Pilots have reunited and will be touring together soon!

 Stay tuned!!

2008 Oscars, and past winners and losers on the red carpet

Filed under: Fashion, Random Tidbits, Entertainment — Tristan Panasik @ 08:42

I’ve heard a lot of people say that they don’t give a hoot about this year’s Oscars, which we can conveniently blame on the writer’s strike and lack of Golden Globes glamour.  But I’ve actually planned my day so that I can be home in time to see the red carpet with its high fashion and sparkling jewels.

If you’re like me and can’t wait until this afternoon, check out some of the fasions from previous years where Oscar’s worst dressed and Oscar’s best dressed are idolized (for lack of a better word) forever.

How much does a strike cost?

Filed under: Random Tidbits, Entertainment — Tristan Panasik @ 15:42

The chief economist for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp., Jack Kyser, has released a report that claims the recent writer’s strike has cost Hollywood a total of $2.5 billion in lost show business.  That’s quite a bit for a 3 month hiatus.

Dancing with the Stars

Filed under: Entertainment — Tristan Panasik @ 07:59

The new cast has finally been announced for this season’s Dancing with the Stars.  It sounds like the “big name” this year is Priscilla Presley, but I’m more concerned with the fact that Maks Chmerkovskiy won’t be returning this year.  So sad.

 This year’s cast includes:

ADAM CAROLLA & JULIANNE HOUGH
CRISTIÁN DE LA FUENTE & CHERYL BURKE
SHANNON ELIZABETH & DEREK HOUGH
STEVE GUTTENBERG & ANNA TREBUNSKAYA
PENN JILLETTE & KYM JOHNSON
MARIO & KARINA SMIRNOFF
MARLEE MATLIN & FABIAN SANCHEZ
PRISCILLA PRESLEY & LOUIS VAN AMSTEL
MONICA SELES & JONATHAN ROBERTS
JASON TAYLOR & EDYTA SLIWINSKA
MARISSA JARET WINOKUR & TONY DOVOLANI
KRISTI YAMAGUCHI & MARK BALLAS

Foxwoods - best game in town?

Filed under: Entertainment, Casino — Tristan Panasik @ 08:33

FoxwoodsWho had the best game on Friday night?  It was a double whammy at Foxwoods last night where the New England AFC football champs partied with their passionate fans, and where I was lucky enough to hit a hot blackjack table.  Definitely good times here in Ledyard, CT, and worthy of a repeat performance.
