If you know me, you know that I love love love music. And when I love music, I tend to listen to one group on repeat for a long time.My latest obsession in the vast world of music is a CD from 2009 from Breaking Benjamin called Dear Agony. With an impressive blend of rock and strong lyrical content, Breaking Benjamin has sucked me into their little world where I would gladly volunteer to be the head cheerleader at their groupie HQ.

2010 Grammys
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t expect this year’s Grammys to live up to the hype that I’ve heard over the last week. All of the talk about special performances and secret duets didn’t sound like anything worth staying up for. Yet, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of entertainment this year. A few memorable moments include:
Lady Gaga’s performance with Elton John
Pink swinging in the air. I heard Pink say that her performance was “wet” several times over the last few days. This performance was much better than I had expected.
Additionally, Bon Jovi performed for the first time at the Grammys while Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Smoky Robinson and Jennifer Hudson performed a special 3D tribute to Michael Jackson that was followed by a”thank you” from two of Jackon’s children.

American Idol
Holy smokes! The American Idol judges saved a contestant who should have gone home, and it wasn’t Adam Lambert!
I’m not going to lie, I was actually watching the NHL playoff games tonight (let’s go Devils!!!) and I missed this week’s elimination episode. You can only guess how surprised I was to Google “American Idol” to find this article saying that all four judges decided to spare Matt Giruad after it was announced that he had the fewest votes after this week’s performance.
I’m a fan of Matt Giruad and enjoy his Michael Buble esque style, and hope he does well and continues to get more votes in the upcoming weeks. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what happens next week as two of the American Idol contestants will face elimination without the ability to be saved. Good luck to all

The Script
I’ve found a new musical obsession to add to my ever growing list of my favorite bands. With songs that I can’t get out of my head, The Script is a band from Ireland that is just breaking out into the USA. The trio already has a self titled album that was released in August 2008 along with videos, a Web site, a MySpace page, as well as a Facebook fan page.
Check out the video for my favorite song called The Man Who Can’t Be Moved on YouTube.

Velvet Revolver Pulls Trigger
Earlier today, Velvet Revolver announced that the band will be splitting with its lead singer Scott Weiland. While it is easy to initially speculate that the break up is a result of Weiland’s checkered past, not to mention his recent DUI charges (to which Weiland has plead not guilty and is free on $40,000 bail), the break up actually coincides with the recent announcement that Stone Temple Pilots have reunited and will be touring together soon!
Stay tuned!!
